Introduction
Situated in the historic market town of Ashby de la Zouch in North West Leicestershire, Ashby Hastings is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the Midlands, dating back prior to 1831.Hastings members enjoy playing on one of the finest grounds in the region, located in the centre of Ashby.
An ECB Focus Club who hold Clubmark accreditation, Hastings run two Saturday League sides, both of whom play in the Leicestershire & Rutland County Cricket League. The club has a thriving Junior Section includes sides at Under 17, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 age groups, as well as the largest "All Stars" programme in the county.
Senior training sessions during the season take place from 5:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings on the Bath Grounds. Junior coaching sessions for all age groups take place throughout weekday evenings. Senior pre season "Winter Net" sessions run between February and the start of the new season every year, and take place at Newbridge Academy in Coalville with junior sessions held at Ashby School sports hall for both seniors and juniors. Ashby Hastings are always on the lookout for new players of all abilities, each year we recruit an overseas player to play in our 1st XI. Previous overseas players can be seen by visiting our Overseas Players page. If you are interested in finding out more about Ashby Hastings Cricket Club or would like to join us whether as a player, umpire, scorer or social member, then please contact the Club Secretary Lynn Knox. Our clubhouse has a well stocked bar which is open to members and non members alike. Our bar is an ideal place for you and your family to come and have a drink, and if the sun shines we have the best beer garden in town, overlooking the lovely Bath Grounds.
