Right hand top to middle order batsmen
Coops played for Hastings for many years and captained the 1st XI for several years in the mid to late 80's. A great leader on the pitch he steared the club to the league championship success in 1986 & 1987.
Coops finally left Ashby when he moved house to Desford. Upon hearing this Narborough contacted him about playing for them to which he replied "I wouldn't play for you if I lived on your outfield" He is now their chairman !!!!!
Will always be remembered for his "quicker ball" being "four runs every time"
