Ashby Hastings Cricket Club 3rd XI v Loughborough Outwoods 2nd XI on Sat 30 Apr 2011 at 1.30pm
Ashby Hastings Cricket Club Won AHCC 21 points

Match report Unsurprisingly Ashby started off as the underdogs once again. With just 3 changes from the previous week Ashbys opening partnership of Gough and Cooper once again tied the opposition down early on with 2 wickets for Gough and 1 for Cooper in their opening spells. Dodd coming down from the second team did well in continually tieing the batsmen down, along with support from Smithson and Hulley. Some very harsh wides and a couple of debatable decisions going their way Outwoods managed to eventually scrape their way to 159-4 off their 45 overs. Another great effort in the field.

Hastings as they did last week got off to a flier with Smithson getting them ahead of the rate early on. After Smithson, Hulley, Brown and Legg all fell the score stood at 68-4. However a brilliant partnership of 79 from Hall and Vaughan took them within touching distance of victory. 2 wickets in 2 balls were not enough to stop Hastings, as Vaughan and Gough finished off the job.

All in all, another great performance and now some confidence to move forward with and take to Melton Mowbray next week, to try and get 2 wins in a row for the first time since May 2009.
